Novi (4-2, 4-0 KLAA Central) visits Northville (6-0, 4-0 Central) 7 p.m. tomorrow. The Mustangs are coming off a 55-6 win over Livonia Stevenson, who Novi defeated 17-6 earlier this season.
Northville has outscored opponents 303-36 this season, never scoring fewer than 35 or allowing more than 13 points. Novi has a 124-74 advantage, which maxes out at 35 points on offense and has allowed up to 24 on defense, poising Novi’s defense as the key players in the contest.
“Northville is extremely well coached. Matt Ladach is one of the classiest coaches out there,” Novi coach Todd Pennycuff said. “We’re going to have our work cut out for us. We’re going to have our hands full next week.”
In addition to taking back the Baseline Jug following a 14-8 overtime loss last season that broke a nine-year winning streak in the rivalry game, a victory would also win the division title and move the Wildcats one step closer to punching their playoff ticket following last season’s 3-6 shortfall.
