The Novi Wildcats JV football team started off fast Wednesday night, scoring on their first drive of the game en route to a 28-0 pounding of the Lakeland Eagles.  The Wildcats dominated all aspects of the game and scored touchdowns on three of their first four drives of the game.

Aaron Pringle started the game with a solid kickoff return setting the Wildcats up on their 37 yard line.  Unfortunately, starting quarterback Rohit Mogalayapalli was hurt on the play and did not return to the game.  Backup Bill Ulle took over and the offense did not seem to miss a beat.   Jalen Ward and Zac Siriani took over with several long runs and Ulle connected with Adam Tobias and Ryan Moore on long passes setting up Ward for a 1 yard touchdown run and  a 7-0 lead.

The Wildcats started the second quarter at their own 10 yard line and mounted a 90 yard touchdown drive on the strength of two long receptions by Moore.  The first reception was a screen pass to Moore that he advanced 44 yards on a great individual effort.    After a run by Ward, Ulle connected with Moore who was streaking down the sidelines on a 48 yard touchdown.  Ulle had all day to throw the ball as the offensive line of Dorian Haney, Andy Wilchyinski, Connor Howell, Jared Engebretson and Joey Haddad dominated the Eagles all game.

After a quick 3 and out by the Eagles, the Novi offense struck quickly with a 23 yard run by Ward and a 22 yard reception by Tobias.  The drive was capped off by a 13 yard run by Ward and a 21-0 lead which the Wildcats took into half time.

The second half was more of a defensive struggle which seemed fine with the Wildcats as they got  a number of big hits from Siriani, Caleb Wright, Brendan Smythe, Pat Wojtylo and the entire defensive line of Howell, Wilchynski, Jimmy Hole and Ward.  The lone score in the second half came on an interception by Wojtylo that he returned 21 yards for a touchdown and a 28-0 lead.    The Wildcats will take their 2-0 record into their next game at home this Thursday night against Plymouth Salem .
